Mahabs Trip

When one thinks of a weekend getaway close to Chennai along the East coast road your mind can go crazy trying to select a resort to stay in with the truck load of options available to you..After giving it a good amount of thought my husband and me decided to stay in INDECCO Resorts in Mahabalipuram..We wanted to go somewhere close to the sightseeing spots in Mahabs and INDECCO seemed to be in the center of all the sightseeing spots..

With the duration of the stay, the dates and the resort decided I called the resort and made a phone booking..Since it was mid FEB there was no difficulty in getting a room..We were told that we could go there and pay in person..Now with all that decided we were very much looking forward to our weekend getaway...

We decided to drive down to Mahabs because its just some 50 odd kms away from Chennai..The climate chose to be our friend that day and it was a nice and breezy pleasant day..We left after breakfast around 10.30 and started heading toward Mahabs..

When you drive along the ECR you will find an off road sports area to your left..Since my husband and me love gaming and anything to do with sports we stopped there for a bit and decided to give the dirt bikes there a ride..Oh! what a fun Racer feeling you'd get when you're on one of those bikes.. But Honestly i had to try really hard to keep my bike on the right course he he ...

After that fun beginning we started our drive again..We reached Mahabs around 12.30 pm...From the min we entered the resort gates I was sure we had chosen the right resort...INDECCO gives you a feeling of going into a pristine old fashioned Kerala environment...Plenty of shade and the rooms so traditionally and neatly designed that you would not have the heart to leave once you step into them..

Our room was very spacious,elegant and clean, attributes that we all want when we choose a place to stay..The view outside our room was full of lush greenery..We decided to go to the restaurant for lunch..The restaurant wasn't too fancy but the food was very good...

We rested for a bit and took off for sightseeing..We went to the Shore temple which is what you will find as soon as you step outside the resort gates, then drove down to Ajanta caves..We got back to the resort and took a leisurely walk down to the beach which is just a 100 meters away from the resort..

What we loved about this place was they also had games we could play..My husband n myself can never resist a challenge and we got into bouts of table tennis matches, snooker games (i suck at it btw), Badminton and carrom...After this lovely tiring day we ordered for room service and enjoyed the sumptuous meal served to us...

We woke up late the next day one of the boons to having a getaway trip..We took a short stroll around the resort, had a refreshing time at their clean pool, had lunch and relaxed till it was time for us to leave...

We did leave INDECCO with a heavy heart but the memories of that trip are still very fresh in our minds and we would definitely go back again...We would like to thank all the staff there at INDECCO for their excellent and courteous service...
